What are the promotions JE gets in GSECL in their career?

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. recruits Junior Engineers for Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Electronics branches. This year 155 GSECL vacancies have been rolled out. In this article, we will discuss the career growth options for Junior Engineers absorbed by GSECL.

  • Vidhyut Sahayak Junior Engineer: The candidates who qualify for the GSECL JE 2021 will be absorbed as Vidhyut Sahayak Junior Engineer (VS JE). The selected candidate is initially appointed for five years. The candidate will be considered for regular appointment upon successful completion of two-year tenure as Vidhyut Sahayak. 

Salary of Vidhyut Sahayak Junior Engineer: The remuneration ranges from INR 37000 to 39000. No other allowance except coverage under Personal Accident Policy and reimbursement of TA/DA is allowed.

  • Deputy Engineer: This is the first promotion of the Junior Engineer at GSECL. It takes nearly eight to nine years to get promoted. The candidates need to work very hard to reach this level, and they should have a clean track record.

Salary of a Deputy Engineer: The candidate is getting monthly remuneration in the pay scale band of INR 55600 to 110100. Standard perks and benefits are also provided to the candidate promoted to this level.

  • Executive Engineer: This is the second promotion level provided to the Junior Engineer. The promotion is often based on the seniority level of the candidate. Selection is based on performance appraisal and a face-to-face interview with the candidate. The approximate time taken to reach the Executive Engineer level is ten years.

Salary of an Executive Engineer: Executive Engineer is a senior post and has lots of responsibilities of GSECL. The employee gets the monthly remuneration in the pay scale band of INR 72100 to 119400. Typical take-home salary, including all perks and incentives, is approximate in pay scale band of INR 650000 to INR 1840000. 

  • Superintending Engineer: This is the third promotion provided to the Junior Engineer. Past track record in posts held by the candidate is seen for promotion to the position of Superintending Engineer. Performance in the personal face-to-face interview is of critical importance.

Salary of a Superintending Engineer: Superintending Engineer is one of the top three posts in GSECL, and the compensation provided is one of the highest in the company. The employee gets the monthly remuneration in the pay scale band of INR 110100 to 187700. The expected take-home salary, including all perks and incentives, is more than INR 1400000.

  • Additional Chief Engineer: This is the fourth promotion provided to the Junior Engineer. Few vacancies exist, and competition is intense for the post of superintending engineers post. The candidate should excel in the personal face-to-face interview supported by an excellent track record in job responsibilities handled so far.

Salary of an Additional Chief Engineer: It is one of the top two posts in GSECL, and compensation matches off with the responsibility held by the employee. The employee gets the monthly remuneration in the pay scale band of INR 129800 to 202700. The expected take-home salary, including all perks and incentives, is more than INR 2000000.

  • Chief Engineer: This is the fifth promotion provided to the Junior Engineer. The candidate with excellent man-management skills at the top of the management has the brightest chances of getting selected. The board of directors conducts a personal face-to-face interview for finalizing the candidate most suitable for the job.

Salary of the Chief Engineer: The top post of GSECL has the maximum compensation given to any other employee in GSECL. The employee gets the monthly remuneration in the pay scale band of INR 148800 to 209500. The expected take-home salary, including all perks and incentives, is more than INR 2500000. 

The following post in target for the Chief Engineer at GSECL is the post of Executive Director. The candidate is absorbed into the Board of Directors for the excellent track record maintained in all posts. The salary provided is one of the highest in the country and with all the major perks and benefits.
